What Are Blueprints?

A Blueprint is a permanent crafting recipe. Once you find and learn a Blueprint, it's added to your collection forever. These recipes allow you to craft a wide range of items at your Workshop in Speranza, including:

  • New weapons
  • Advanced weapon attachments (like stocks and silencers)
  • Upgraded versions of existing gear

Finding Blueprints is essential for long-term progression and preparing for the toughest challenges on Calyx.

How to Find Blueprints

Blueprints are rare, but you can significantly increase your chances of finding them by searching in the right places. They can be found as mission rewards, but are more commonly discovered through exploration.

Finding a Blueprint in the world

  • High-Loot Areas: These zones have a higher chance of spawning valuable items, including Blueprints.
  • Locked Rooms: Always be on the lookout for keys. The rooms they unlock often contain high-tier loot.
  • Raiders' Containers: Make a habit of checking every container you come across. For more on scavenging locations, see our Resources, Materials & Loot Guide.
  • Night Time Missions: The increased risk of night deployments comes with the reward of better loot, including a higher spawn rate for Blueprints. Learn more about deployment strategies in the Extraction Playbook.

For tips on navigating high-value zones, check out our Resources, Materials & Loot Guide.

A Smart Farming Strategy

To actively hunt for Blueprints, try this low-risk method:

  1. Equip a free or inexpensive loadout.
  2. Deploy into a Night Time mission.
  3. Focus on looting Raider outposts and High-Loot areas.
  4. Once you find a Blueprint, extract immediately to secure it.

You Found a Blueprint... Now What?

Finding a Blueprint is just the first step. You must survive and extract with it in your inventory. If you are eliminated, the Blueprint will be lost. For extraction strategies, check out the Extraction Playbook.

Once you're safely back in Speranza:

  1. Open your inventory.
  2. Select the Blueprint you extracted.
  3. Choose the "consume and learn" option.

Blueprint in inventory

This action uses up the Blueprint item but permanently teaches you the recipe.

From Blueprint to Battlefield: The Crafting Process

With the recipe learned, you're ready to craft. Head to your Workshop in Speranza.

Crafting with a Blueprint

To create your new item, you will need:

  1. The Correct Crafting Station: Some advanced Blueprints require an upgraded station (e.g., a Level 2 Gunsmith). Learn more about facility upgrades in the Beginner's Guide.
  2. Crafting Materials: You'll need the specific resources listed in the recipe. Scavenge for these during your deployments. For a complete guide to materials and where to find them, see the Resources, Materials & Loot Guide.

Once you have the necessary station and materials, you can craft your item and equip it for your next mission.

Next Steps: Now that you know how to acquire better gear, refine your combat skills with the Combat Fundamentals guide and plan your missions with the Extraction Playbook.
